Like many who land in this area, I hold dreams of impact, of contribution, and of how I can best service this community. For now, it’s landed in my return to sharing Tango. And why not? It is, after all, such a magical offering. Especially at a time when community and connection is so needed …
Like for many of us, it has been a long journey of swings and roundabouts. This last one has had me journey North, to this luscious and graceful patch of Earth called the Northern Rivers. And I am deeply grateful to be here.
So what I’m starting with are half-day immersions into the fundamentals of Tango for those interested in learning enough to get you started as a social Tango dancer.
THE FIRST, will be held on 11 June in Murwillumbah. And if you’re ready to sign up! You can do so via this ticket link =>
Participants in this workshop will learn enough to be able to start dancing Tango socially.
Tango FUN I will start the series of Tango FUN Workshops, all with the aim to get you walking and moving like a Tango dancer, and into creative, embodied, improvisational freedom.
Tango FUN II will continue on 2 July, although you will also be able to continue the Tango fun in our Wednesday practicas at the Murwillumbah Autumn Club before then.
A fundamental tango is simple and natural for the body. The understanding of a shared lexicon, of body language, opens up the potential for greater exploration and play. Which is why we do workshops and classes.
If you’d like to learn more about Tango, classes and workshops, please check out the “Learn Tango“ tab on the menu. Or simply work your way through this website’s info 🙂 There are also videos and ideas on the Tango Butterfly Facebook page.
I hope to see you on the dance floor soon 🦋🦋🦋
